The Internet and I will continue to have a love hate relationship, especially when it comes to the video I’m about to show you in the next few lines…
On one hand it shouldn’t be funny due to the nature of the violence shown in the video, and I really feel like if there wasn’t a video, and it was just a story summed up in text, I’d probably be shaking my head in disgust at what I’m reading. However, because it is a video, you can clearly see exactly what went down and then make a judgment call for yourself. So before I go any further, here’s the video:
Now again, to me, this video is hilarious. First and foremost, for that girl to be that blatantly disrespectful to an elder was uncalled for and she definitely had some sort of repercussion coming. Then the fact that it actually came at the hands of her victim, in the form of an uppercut of all things, is the icing on the cake. On top of all that, there’s a nice moral to the story, which is all included in the video:
“I Don’t Care! If she wants to be a man, I’m going to treat her like a man!!”
True. Story. Now I’m not going to get into whether or not it’s OK to hit a woman. I think I Summed up my feelings on that in my first entry of When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong.
For this entry I’m just going to end it with a series of tweets I saw from a talented artist by the name of Phonte.
- I’m a feminist who believes in equality, so I think ol’ girl deserved to get the entire f**k knocked out of her just as much as any man.
- The moral of the Bus driver Punch out story is quite simple, folks: Be courteous, be kind, be respectful.
- Disrespect a person and they have no reason to respect you. And at that point you have no say so as to what THEY feel is proper retaliation.
- Don’t draw a knife then get mad when the other person draws a gun. They had to do something to show you they not the one to pull knives on.
