Tales From The Westside: Moving Thru The City

I hate having to play catch up with my “Tales From The Westside” Series.. I feel like I’m always overlooking something, or not giving any particular story the amount of attention it deserves.. and I’m thinking that will change. Life has been crazy lately and I can’t wait until I’m in the position to speak on it in full detail.. But until then..

Industry Cafe

There are few things that I love more than a live show, especially in regards to music. So when my friend invited me out to “Industry Cafe & Jazz” with the promise of a live band, I had to make a trip out to see it. It did not disappoint.

Open Mics can be great because they don’t rely on the “spectacle” of performance but more on the “intimacy” of one. You’re not hearing spoken word just to hear someone put some amazing syllables together but you’re hearing someone bear their personal thoughts and soul about whatever the topic may be, and why that topic moved them to speak about it in such length. It’s Art and it’s beautiful.

Late Nights at iHop

As much as I love food, I’m not a big fan of eating out.

Not because I’ve become increasingly more health conscious as I’ve gotten older, but because it’s expensive (and fattening) and as I’ve laid out in a previous post:

Even still, I’m a big fan of spending quality time with friends, especially if it leads to great memories and awesome experiences. So for the 3rd time in two weeks, I find myself sitting in an overpriced Ihop in West Hollywood.. talking about girls and watching weird people walk in and out of the restaurant. Naturally, this led to more memories, such as…

Random Naked Man Walking Down the Sidewalk

Yeahh. So I was dropping my friend back off at his car when we saw him.

Granted, this was close to 2 AM in the morning, but the guy was walking down the sidewalk, no attempt to cover up, just taking a stroll. Welcome to Los Angeles I guess.

Delivery Job

And so we have it.. Job #2.

I told myself I wasn’t going back to a full-time job so I could have time to work on my career and so far I’ve been able to keep that goal at least to an extent. Even still, man cannot live off Part-Time and no paying roles alone. So I’ve started my second job.

All things considered, I like it. The hours are flexible and considering the work that I’m doing (Think Uber… But for Groceries) the money is pretty good. A small part of me can’t help but wonder if I’m slowly starting to slip back into the “Pay Bills First, Chase Dreams Later” Routine that I fell victim to while still living in Miami…

I know I kept this post light in terms of details/entertaining stories but again that’s only because my day-to-day has been hectic. But it will be back to your regularly scheduled postings in the near future.
